We moved to Denver in 2022, dreaming of buying our first home in the next year or two.

Faced with the reality of high home prices and high interest rates, we realized we were going to have to do something different than purchase our dream home right away. This is when we started looking for a home we could use as a primary residence and a short term rental.

We found a lovely home 15 minutes from Red Rocks and 15 minutes from downtown Denver with a large basement that could have its own entrance, making it perfect for a short term rental. This required a big basement renovation! A contractor did the “behind the walls” work and we did all the finishing – floors, cabinets, painting, etc. It wasn’t the *most* fun, but we got through it.

The day we got our first AirBnB booking, we were in total shock! What a giant leap of faith we took to renovate, furnish, and launch a short term rental. After the first booking, came the second, then the third. On and on and on! We’ve had a (mostly) wonderful experience! We have learned a lot, and we have met some really cool people along the way. Hopefully you will too!
