Room by Room: Kitchen Things to Buy

A list of every item we purchased for our kitchen will be found below (with links, if helpful). However, if you have time, we highly recommend estate sales and thrift stores for some of these items.

We opted to buy new items that we thought we may need to replace, like plates and mugs. But we found a perfectly functional Keurig and coffee tray at an estate sale for a great price! It all depends on your budget, time, and how large and functional your kitchen is!

Pots and Pans SetWe honestly kept one of these pans for ourselves and we love it!

Cookie SheetsWe also kept one of these!

Coffee

Coffee Pot, Pods, Pod HolderI’ll leave this one up to you! We haven’t had any issues with our Keurig. We do choose to run water through it and dry out the water compartment for cleaning. This is an added step that may be avoided with other coffee pots. We get our K-cups at Costco.

Appliances

ToasterNothing fancy needed here.

Things you’ll need to replenish (thus, things we bought at Costco):

  • K-Cups
  • Dishwasher soap pods
  • Sponges
  • Trash bags
  • Soap

Happy shopping! There are guests who never use the kitchen for anything other than coffee; but for a guest who wants to cook, a well-stocked kitchen can set you apart.

We purchased our first home in 2024, renovated our basement, and turned it into a Denver short term rental! We learned a lot, continue to learn, and look forward to sharing those learnings with you!
